Mele Murals Spring Break

Youth Development • Arts Education • Cultural Preservation • Community Building

In partnership with Kaulu by Kamehameha Schools Digital, it is an honor to provide our first Mele Murals Spring Break Program!

Our program is a 1 week in-person and online visual art experiential learning program that engages keiki in authentic Hawaiian culture, the practice of “Aloha ‘Aina,” and the intent of inspiring future generations of ‘ōiwi leaders.

Our program is for keiki students that are ages 6 to 11 years old, 1st through 5th grades.  In partnership with Kaneohe Elementary school, we will have our in-person program facilitated on their beautiful campus. In addition to our in-person classes, we will also be offering a separate Online Class if you prefer an online platform for your keiki.

Due to Covid19 restrictions, we will follow Hawaii DOE protocols of social distancing, cleaning of our hālau/classrooms, constant hand sanitation, and require all staff and students to be wearing face masks at all times.

Registration is open now through March 1st, 2022. Space is limited and is on a first come first serve basis. Once registered one of our staff members will email you back to confirm your registration in the Spring Break program.

We will hear from special guest speakers, make crafts, and practice mindfulness. Students will learn to harness their mana (energy) and use their voice to express their mana‘o (mind) and express their creativity with the intention of aloha using visual art mediums. For our in-person Spring Break program, we will paint an outdoor “Mini Mele Mural” at Kaneohe Elementary School.
