Mele Murals

Local artists, youth and community members from across the Hawaiian Islands co-create large-scale public murals.

Educational Tools

Video resources and lesson plans for students that are currently or has been involved in a Mele Mural project and teachers that are participating in the Mele Mural Professional Development.

Mele Murals Summer Program

Summer Program where student participants learn navigation, the ahupua’a system, cultivation, Hawaiian games, mindfulness, chants, and will express their mana’o through art as the next generation of visual storytellers.

Hālau Pāheona

Weekly after school workshops held at Kaimukī High School engages students in cultural story telling, visual arts, teamwork and leadership training.

Engages youth, artists, cultural organizers, and environmental activists to create murals that reflects the relationship between the people and their water.

Professional Development

Providing Hawai‘i’s Teachers unique opportunities to learn about and engage in contemporary art techniques guided by world-renowned muralist Estria Miyashiro while earning continuing education credits.

Estria Battle

The Estria Battle is a aerosol art competition that honors and advances creativity, social justice and empowering communities with spirit and beauty.

True Colors Project

A Berkeley City College based public murals program, True Colors trains aspiring artists to design and create meaningful public murals with social and environmental themes.
