Hau‘oli makakiki hou!

We are blessed to move into our new home at Kaimuki High School. Our new address is:

Estria Foundation / Mele Murals
2705 Kaimuki Avenue, Building L
Honolulu, HI 96816

We are excited to launch our new afterschool arts workshop, called Halau Paheona at Kaimuki High School! Workshops are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5PM and open to all high school students (ages 12-18) free of charge.

If you know of any youth that would like to attend, please contact us at 808-638-4005 or email [email protected].

We aim to cultivate more public art and place-based Hawaiian cultural workshops. We will complete 7-8 more Mele Murals in 2016 on Oahu, Kauai, Big Island and fingers crossed, Maui too! Get updates on Instagram and Facebook.

Aloha!

Throwback to last Octoberʻs workshops in the Kaimuki High School library drawing sessions with Uncle Estria.

Our huakaʻi (field trip) to Ka Papa Loʻi ʻO Kānewai. Before any paint goes on any walls, we always take a huakaʻi to a location of cultural significance in the area we are painting our murals. We learned about the significance of Kāne and Kanaloa to wai (water flow) and the moʻolelo of Kahalaopuna.
