The Estria Foundation was the fiscal parent for True Colors, a special mural project lead by murales maestra, Juana Alicia, and the Trust Your Struggle (TYS) collective. TYS has several political and social justice muralists that have worked with us over the past 10 years. They are Erin Yoshioka, Miguel “Bounce” Perez, Cece Carpio, and Robert Trujillo.

The mural at West Oakland Youth Center was made of ceramic tiles. The original art was painted on tyvec material, then photographed and digitally transferred to multiple clay tiles. The tiles were fired in a kiln, then mounted onto the sides of the West Oakland Youth Center.
