Our next Mele Murals project will take us back to Moiliili, where our team will work with with students from Prince Jonah Kuhio Elementary School in the month of March. The students have been progressing strongly at our afterschool classes at Halau Paheona (School of Visual Arts). Below shows the students using basic shapes and patterns to create animals or aumakua that they connect with. In an overview lesson, the students learn that the more they take care of the land we live on, the animals they care about will flourish.
Our next Mural Unveiling Day for this monthʻs project at Kuhio Elementary School will be on Friday, March 16th. Email us at [email protected] for more information.
