Join us this coming Friday, November 6th, 2015 from 10am – 11am for our Ho‘olaule‘a Mural Unveiling Event at Kaimukī High School!
The latest 200 foot long Mele Mural is finishing up at Kaimukī High School and is one of the biggest ones we’re aiming to finish on the island of Oahu. The haumana & advisors at Kaimukī have been working hard for the past semester to bring this mural to life at the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Kaimukī Avenue.
With the help of the staff and our visit to Ka Papa Loʻi o Kānewai, we’ve learned about the importance of protecting our underground waters and this is one of the themes for this Mele Mural. In addition, the local story of Kahalaopuna, the beautiful rainbow maiden of Manoa, will also be unveiled.
There will be musical entertainment and the building of a new ahu. This event is free to the public and there will be free parking!
The Kaimukī students are excited to have you there so they can share with you the meaning behind their mural. Please spread the word and hope to see you there!
