Mele Murals Spring Program
March 17th – 21st, 2025
Registration is now open! We are accepting applications for our Mele Murals Spring Program for in-person classes. This Art and Hawaiian Culture program is available for students in 3rd-6th grade. This program is designed to engage keiki in a culture-focused arts curriculum perpetuating Hawaiian culture.
Hawaiians believe there are three main PIKOs on the human body connecting us to the past, present, and future. Piko I is on the top of the head, connecting us to those in the heavens. Piko O is our belly button, the umbilical cord that connects us to our bloodline. Piko A is our genitals, connecting us to the next generation. As we learn about piko in our spring program, we highlight the stories that tie us to the past and teach us of our kuleana (responsibility) in the here and now, in hopes that we will inspire what’s to come.
All art supplies, huaka’i (field trips), Mele Murals program tshirt, and daily snacks will be provided. Students must bring daily home lunch and drinking water in a reusable water bottle.
